Alive and kicking

I feel like I've been neglecting my poor darling blog lately so just wanted to let you all know that I'm still here and writing up a storm. I love it when you reach that part of the story when everything is locked in and there can be no doubt or indecision because the characters have set their course (thank hilary because quite frankly I'm getting a bit sick of acting like a career counsellor to this mob!!). Anyway, 'tis almost finished and will hopefully have it to my agent next week so I can get on to my next book, which of course is singing out to me.

In other news, doncha just love this song? I've even had my kids singing it around the house. And if you hang around long enough, the next track down is one of my fav David Bowie songs ever - it's a slightly different version, but all the same it's still genius.

Reading wise I just finished up Alyson Noel's Saving Zoe. If you haven't read it then I suggest you go and get yourself a copy post haste and then take the phone of the hook, lock the kids in the closet and tell your husband you're on strike because this is one book that you're not going to want to put down. What's everyone else been up to?

Well first of all, I'm still not hearing your songs.

But what I've been up to is systematically removing every bone in my body (or at least it feels like it) through water aerobics and yoga. Who knew they'd kick my butt?!?

Sitting around watching the Simpsons, eating, reading, sleeping, and going to the post office every day to send off packages to people who won in the contests I'm running all month.

And right now, I'm reading two books: In Your Room by Jordanna Fraiberg (out in October, and you should totally read it- it is simply amazing) and Alive and Well in Prague, New York by Daphne Grab.

Dang, how did you know that the song would come at ya like that. I started reading the post and then...bam,dun,dun-uh.What's it called?

We're fixing up our house.(ok, he's fixing the house,I'm attempting to pack early..I didn't realize how much stuff we've accumulated over the years) We're hoping to move by the end of summer. I have been getting a book in here and there. A couple good reads so far are Wicked Game by Jer Smith-Ready and Because Your Vampire Said So by Michle Bardsley.

Hugs, Danette

Lucy, weird you still can't hear the playlist and bleurgh on all that hurty excercise - hope you're feeling better for it!

BC, oh, my kids love the Simpsons!

Danette B - it's called 'That's Not My Name' by an English band called the Ting Tings. Good luck with the packing and moving - we did it 4 times last year so I'm pleased to be sitting still. Oh, I've been meaning to read Wicked Games - must add to my wishlist!

Sara - scroll down to the bottom of my blog and see if you can see the playlist itself. It's weird it doesn't work on all computers!

I finally finished the novella I've been working on and the synopsis and printed everything out and got the package ready to mail. I'm trying to get back into the groove.
